The firmware version that has been loaded on your recorder is noted on the large yellow sticker on the outside of your recorder box. You need to compare this version with the latest firmware available on-line by following these instructions:
Read Next :
- Go to www.alibisecurity.com and login using your Dealer username and password. You must login first to get access to the resources section.
- Type in the SKU of your recorder in the search bar in the upper right portion of the site, and then click the search icon. The recorder SKU will start with an ALI- . In the example here, I entered: ALI-QVR4116.
- When you find the product, click the image to go to the main product page. This page should display a bigger picture of the product with a title and bullet points to the right of the image.
- Scroll down the page until you find the Resources tab (see below). Click on this tab to reveal the Resources content links.
- Scroll down and click on the link titled “Full List of Available Firmware and Manuals” (see above).
- Once you click the link, it will take you to the location of the newest firmware for your recorder model. Scroll down the page to find the firmware for your recorder. If the newest version on this on-line page matches the version number on the box yellow sticker, then your recorder is up to date.
IMPORTANT: If the firmware version shown on-line is higher than the version shown on the yellow box sticker, then you need to UPGRADE the firmware on your recorder by following the directions below:
HOW TO UPDATE RECORDER FIRMWARE
Step 1. On the same product RESOURCES PAGE above, select the latest firmware version for your recorder.
IMPORTANT: Different series recorders require different firmware upgrades. Please make sure you select the correct firmware based on your recorder model. Select the correct link and this will automatically download the file to your hard drive.
Step 2. Go to the download location on your hard drive to find the .zip file that was just downloaded. Extract this folder to open up to the firmware folder. Copy this folder and the included firmware digicap.dav file to a thumb drive.
Step 3. Insert the thumb drive in any open USB port on the recorder.
Step 4. Go to your recorder interface and choose Upgrade on the left menu. Then on the right side of this menu click the Refresh button.
Step 5. Open the Device Name drop-down list and select the USB device that contains the new firmware file.. click on the firmware file you downloaded to highlight it,
and then click the Upgrade button at the bottom of the menu.
Step 6. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the upgrade.
Step 7. After the recorder reboots, log into the recorder again as a user with administrative privileges.
Step 8. Go to menu Maintenance > System > Information and verify that the new firmware is installed and matches the version on-line.
Congratulations! You’re done and can now resume normal recorder operation.

Tirade WIP Series Firmware Update
As of May 2015, all Tirade WIP series wireless access points feature an updated firmware version, enhancing both performance and stability.
The latest version of Tirade firmware features an upgrade from iPoll to a proprietary iPoll2 transmission mode. iPoll2 transmission mode uses a centralized control scheme and ensures smooth packet transmission of voice, video, and data, and features a smarter polling method than iPoll—polling data more often.
If you have previously purchased Tirade WIP series wireless access points and are adding new units to expand your wireless security solution—please make sure that the firmware matches. Because iPoll2 is a proprietary format, all integrated Tirade WIP devices need to be running the latest version of firmware—to ensure seamless communication between devices.
