Your security and privacy are important to us. Lorex will never access cameras on your system unless we have your express permission to do so. We cannot connect to your unit unless you provide us your device ID / DDNS, username, and password.

Resetting Your Lorex Home App password

If you forgot your Lorex Home app cctv password reset, use these steps to reset it and regain access to your app. After resetting the Lorex Home app password, it will automatically change the Lorex Account password as well.

NOTE: The following instructions are shown using an iOS (Apple) smartphone. There may be some differences in the user interface when using an Android smartphone or tablet.

To reset your Lorex Home password:

1 Launch the Lorex Home app on your smartphone or tablet.

2 Once you’re met with the login screen, tap Forgot password? on the bottom right.

3 In the Email field, enter your registered email address.

4 In the Password field, enter your new account password.

NOTE: Your password must contain a combination of 8-32 characters, containing both letters and numbers.

5 Tap the Get activation code button.

6 Check your email for your Lorex activation code.

NOTE: The activation code has been sent to your email. This code will be valid for 15 minutes.

7 In the app, enter the 6-digit verification code to validate your password reset.

8 Tap OK.

Once validated, you will be redirected to the Devices screen.

You will now be able to login to your Lorex Home app and your Lorex Account with your new password.

Resetting Your Lorex Account Password

If you can not remember your Lorex password or are having trouble accessing your account, you can follow these steps to reset your password.

Reset Your Password Online

  1. From lorextechnology.com navigate to the Login page.
  2. Below the Login form, press Forgot your password.

  1. Enter the email address associated with your Lorex Account to receive password reset instructions to your inbox.

  1. You should receive an email with a verification code. Make sure to check your junk/spam folder if you have not received anything in your inbox.
  2. Return back to the Lorex Forgot Your Password page and input your email address, new password, and verification code that you received.

  1. Click Reset my Password to finish. Your password should now be reset!

Resetting Passwords on IP Cameras

If you forgot your IP camera’s password, try the current or previous NVR’s password on the camera. If this does not work, follow these steps to reset the password and regain access.

To change the password on an IP camera:
  1. Access the Info screen on the NVR and check for the local IP address.
  2. Open your IE web browser and input the IP address in the address bar, input the username and password of your NVR, then click Login to view your device.
  3. Drop down the Camera setting located on the left taskbar to access Remote Device settings.

  1. All of the IP camera’s will be listed underneath the Added Device tab. Click on the WEB browse internet icon for the IP camera that you are trying to access.

  1. Enter a fake password when the login screen appears.
  2. The failed login attempt will reveal the IP camera’s serial number (S/N) and the date.

Take down the Date and Serial Number

  1. Call Technical Support and provide the IP camera’s serial number and the date to receive a reset password.
  2. After logging in with the reset password, drop down the System setting on the taskbar to access the Default settings.
  3. Click on Default to reset your IP camera to factory settings.

The default username and password will both be: admin.

If the camera is plugged into an external POE switch:
  1. Access the Info screen on the NVR to check for the local IP address and MAC address.
  2. Open your IE web browser and input the IP address to access the web interface.
  3. Enter a fake password in the login screen.

MPX Series: Modifying user permissions

You can set permissions for any user on your MPX Series DVR. The administrator account is the only account that can modify user account permissions. By editing user permissions, you can enable or disable access to menus and functions.

The following instructions require you to access your system using your DVR and a monitor.

To edit user permissions:

  1. Right-click on the Live View to access the Quick Menu.
  2. Click Main Menu and then click the Setting icon (Setting icon), and then click Account.
  3. Click the Pencil icon (MPXDVR: Pencil Icon) next to the user account you want to configure to open the Add User window.

  4. Select the features and the menus that the user can access.
  5. Click OK to save your settings.

Lorex Secure / FLIR Secure App: Modifying the LHB Series DVR password

The Lorex Secure / FLIR Secure app for smartphones and tablets supports LHB Series DVR password updates through the app.

Prerequisites:

  • Ensure your HD WiFi camera or DVR / NVR system is powered on and connected to the network.
  • Install the Lorex Secure app, available for Android on the Google Play Store or iOS (Apple) on the App Store.
    OR
  • Install the FLIR Secure app, available for Android on the Google Play Store or iOS (Apple) on the App Store.
  • If more than one smartphone or tablet is connected to the DVR / NVR system, only the smartphone or tablet that was connected to the DVR system first will have the capability of changing the password.
  • Log in to the Lorex Secure / FLIR Secure app using the administrator account. Secondary users cannot perform password updates.

To update your HD WiFi camera or DVR / NVR system password:

  1. Launch the Lorex Secure / FLIR Secure app on your smartphone or tablet.
  2. Tap a channel connected to the DVR / NVR you want to change the password for to initiate the Live View.

  3. Tap the Gear icon (FLIR Secure App: Gear Icon) beneath the Live View to open the Settings menu.
  4. Swipe up to reach the bottom of the menu, and then tap Device Settings.
  5. Tap Update Password.

  6. Enter a new password and then tap Update.

Your new password will be used to access your HD WiFi camera or DVR / NVR system directly, as well as remotely using a smartphone, tablet, or computer.

Lorex Secure / FLIR Secure App: Modifying the HD WiFi camera password

Lorex Secure / FLIR Secure app for smartphones and tablets support HD WiFi camera password changes through the app.

Prerequisites:

  • Install the Lorex Secure app, available for Android on the Google Play Store or iOS (Apple) on the App Store.
    OR
  • Install the FLIR Secure app, available for Android on the Google Play Store or iOS (Apple) on the App Store.
  • Ensure you have connected to your DVR / NVR system or HD WiFi camera using the Lorex Secure / FLIR Secure app.
  • The following instructions are shown using an Android smartphone. There may be some differences in the user interface when using an iOS (Apple) smartphone or iPad.

To change your HD WiFi camera password using Lorex Secure / FLIR Secure app:

  1. Launch the Lorex Secure / FLIR Secure app on your smartphone or tablet.
  2. Tap the camera you want to change the password for.

    TIP: If you also have DVR / NVR systems on your Lorex Secure / FLIR Secure app, swipe left to the CAMERAS tab to view HD WiFi cameras.

  3. Tap the Gear icon (FLIR Secure App: Gear Icon) beneath the Live View to open the Settings menu.
  4. Swipe left to the General tab.

  5. Enter a new Camera Password, and then tap Save to save the settings.

Locking Your Lorex Cloud App

If you would like to put a lock on your Lorex Cloud app, follow these steps to secure your app.

NOTE: The following instructions are shown using an iOS (Apple) smartphone. There may be some differences in the user interface when using an Android smartphone or tablet.

To turn on the User Code:

1 Launch the Lorex Cloud app on your smartphone or tablet.

2 Tap the settings button Settings icon on the top left corner.

3 Go to the Local Config tab.

5 Turn on User Code.

6 Enter a 4-digit code.

Please enter your user code

7 Re-enter the 4-digit code to confirm.

Your User Code is now activated to access the Lorex Cloud app.

To turn off the User Code:

Follow the steps above from 1-4.

  1. Tap off User Code.
  2. Enter your 4-digit code to confirm.

If you forget the user code to your Lorex Cloud app, you will need to delete and then re-install the app.

LNR200 / LNR300 Series: Modifying user permissions

You can set permissions for any user on your LNR200 / LNR300 Series NVR. The administrator account is the only account that can modify user account permissions. By editing user permissions, you can enable or disable access to menus and functions.

The following instructions require you to access your system using your NVR and a monitor.

  1. Right-click on the Live View, and then click Menu.
  2. Click Configuration and then click User to display the User Management tab.
  3. Click the Edit icon (edit icon) next to the user account you want to configure.
  4. In the Level drop-down, select the level you want to apply to the user account.
  5. Click OK to save changes.

LNR200 / LNR300 Series: Modifying account username and password

Your LNR200 / LNR300 Series NVR system supports two account types:

  • Admin / System Administrator
    • The system administrator has full control of the system, and can modify both administrator and user passwords and enable / disable password protection.
  • Operator / Normal User
    • Normal users have access to live viewing, search, playback, and other similar functions. You may set up multiple user accounts with varying levels of access to the system.

Prerequisite:

  • Ensure you are logged in as the Admin / System Administrator.

The following instructions require you to access your system using your NVR and a monitor.

To modify the admin account password:

  1. Right-click on the Live View, and then click Menu.
  2. Click Configuration and then click User.
  3. Click the Edit icon (edit icon) next to the Admin account.

  4. In the Old Password field, enter the current administrator password.
  5. Select the Change Password checkbox.
  6. In the Password field, enter the new administrator password.
  7. In the Confirm field, re-enter the new administrator password.

  8. Click OK to save changes.

To modify user accounts:

  1. Right-click on the Live View, and then click Menu.
  2. Click Configuration and then click User.
  3. Click the Edit icon (edit icon) next to the user account you want to configure.
  4. In the User Name field, update the user name as needed.
  5. Select the Change Password checkbox to change the password.
  6. In the Password field, enter the new administrator password.
  7. In the Confirm field, re-enter the new administrator password.
  8. Click OK to save changes.
